Derived from the Latin word "adventus," meaning "coming," Advent is a sacred season that serves as a reminder of the centuries-long waiting and yearning of the Israelites for the promised Messiah. It symbolizes our own longing for His presence in our lives today and our hopeful expectation of His second coming.
