January 13

Father in heaven, who at the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan proclaimed him your beloved Son and anointed him with the Holy Spirit: Grant that all who are baptized into his Name may keep the covenant they have made, and boldly confess him as Lord and Savior; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting.

Read: Psalm 1

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.  For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.”

We Ask You Lord

That we would delight in you. That the lesser loves we hold would fade. That we would be a people who adore you with passion, boldness and a genuine faith.

Take A Moment

Delight in the Lord. Call to mind His goodness toward you. Open to a passage in Scripture that speaks of His character. Focus your attention on the person of God and delight in Him, as you receive His delight toward you, His beloved child.
